Free? Pshh were still slaves...
The reconstruction helped free the slaves, but the slaves still didnt have equal rights as white people did. It was basically as if the slaves werent free because they had to work on plantations to support families, but had to work on cruel deals. Like they had to give half of the crops they plant to the owner, and have to pay to use tools and supplies. They were basically ripped off. At the end of the day they were still slaves, but whites didnt look at it that way.

Why didnt Lincoln preseve slavery?
Abraham Lincoln was more focused on preserving the union because the south thought that if he won the election it will jeopardize their ability to own slaves. Lincoln had to make the war about the union instead of slavery because he would have more people vote for him, and even thoough he said he wanted slavery to be abbolished that wasnt true. Also he knew that the South wanted slavery, he also knew that the north didnt want slavery so had to do something that both will agree on.
Steroetypes in our society
Why do you think that stereotypes are so widely known by so many in our society? I believe that sterotypes are widley known in our society because there are so many different races, and different ethnic backrounds in the world. Everyone always says i dont sterotype, but they do it and dont even notice it. Also everyone was brought up differently, and maybe their families told them things about that race or another. People think there are only stereotypes for whites and blacks, but there are stereotypes for every race in the world. I think stereotypes are made by cultures that people believe in, how people dress, what they eat, and what they look like.
